A Sudbury charity shop is looking to track down three teenage boys who donated the proceeds of a day’s busking to the cause.

Ivy Pound, a volunteer who works at the Cancer Research store in Market Hill, said workers wanted to say a proper thank you to the trio for their kindness.

She said last Saturday the boys, all of whom had guitars, had played outside the shop and the town’s Waitrose supermarket before emptying the £83 they collected on the shop counter and leaving it for the charity.

“We were gobsmacked by what they did and they were only young boys,” said Mrs Pound, from Canhams Road in Great Cornard.

“We do not know their names but we want to thank them personally for their generosity.”

Mrs Pound said she hoped the boys would come forward so workers could take them for breakfast.

“They were such polite boys and they were phenomenal,” she said.

“People were gathering around to watch them play.”

Anyone who knows the young buskers can contact the Free Press on 01787 886908.
