Four people were taken to hospital after a car crash in Great Cornard.

The two-car collision, involving a silver Hyundai and blue Lexus, took place in Shawlands Avenue at around 10.30am this morning.

Fire crews from Sudbury and Long Melford attended the crash, which blocked the road, to free a man who had been trapped inside one of the vehicles.

A man with facial injuries and a woman suffering chest injuries, along with two other people, with a knee injury and cut to the head, were taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds by ambulance.

The road was reopened around 1.10pm.
