A Monks Eleigh grandmother is preparing to take on a 40-mile endurance walk through the Surrey Downs in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Angela Forrest will take on the challenge alongside five others to raise money for a charity which is close to her heart, as her 21-month-old grandson suffers from the condition.

The 63-year-old teacher said: “This will be a real challenge for the team but we want to support Forrest who is the most wonderful grandson any grandmother could wish for.

“Since birth, he has kept reasonably well, with only two bouts in hospital. We do not know what the future holds for him but we know that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust needs funds to ensure research continues to find a cure.”
