Five car crash in Alpheton

A CAR crash involving five vehicles caused delays for motorists earlier this morning.

Police were called to the A134 in Alpheton at around 6.15am after reports a red Vauxhall Astra had overturned and was lying on its roof in a ditch.

Shortly after 6.30am further reports were made to the emergency services after a number of vehicles collided in the same stretch of road.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said: “Five vehicles including a response vehicle were involved in the incident.

“It appears more vehicles collided trying to avoid the red Vauxhall.”

The road was cleared by 8.30am and no-one was injured.
