A Monks Eleigh family have completed an endurance walk in the Surrey Downs to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The team, which consisted of Angela Forrest, her daughter and two son-in-laws, walked for 17 hours to complete the 40-mile course.

Finishing just before midnight, Mrs Forrest said: “We were disappointed we took so long to complete the walk but immensely proud that we did it.

“Our team raised more than £2,000 and we want to thank all of the people who sponsored us.

“The Cystic Fibrosis Trust needs all the funds that can be raised to complete research so cystic fibrosis can be beaten and to support all those with the condition.”

Mrs Forrest was inspired to come up with the idea after her 21-month-old grandson, Forrest, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
