Roadworks on the way into Sudbury have left drivers facing lengthy delays.

The closure of Girling Street while Anglian Water carries out emergency works to fix a dangerous manhole cover have resulted in long queues in Melford Road and North Street today.

Traffic jams are leaving many motorists following diversions with waits of up to an hour to get into the town centre.

A spokesman for Anglian Water has said the roadworks should be completed by 4pm.
