A Sudbury man has admitted driving when more than twice the legal limit.

Ashley Williams, from Humphry Road, appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday charged with driving on the A134 at Long Melford with 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

The 35-year-old also admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance on January 5.

Magistrates heard that Williams had taken a Hyundia Coupe from Glemsford without the owner’s permission, writing off the vehicle. He will be sentenced on April 8.
