Don’t stop the music

MUSIC fans will be swept along on a rollercoaster of different sounds at Sudbury’s Quay Theatre this month.

Starting on Saturday, audiences can take a trip through heavy metal, rock ‘n’ roll and folk.

Hi-on Maiden, the world’s longest-running Iron Maiden tribute band, will pack a powerful heavy-metal punch when they take to the stage on Saturday. Tickets cost £14.

The Jerry Lee Lewis Story on Friday, September 21, tells the tale of the rock ‘n’ roll legend in “an exhilarating style”, with hits such as Great Balls of Fire and Whole Lotta Shakin’. Tickets cost £14.

And on Thursday, September 27, it is the turn of folk band the Churchfitters. A double bass made from a saucepan, musical saw, foot-stomping fast fiddle, funk-rock bouzouki, jazz sax, and the vocals of Rosie Short produce their unique sound. Tickets £15.

Quay spokesman Simon Frampton said the line up reflected the Quay’s growing fame as a music venue as well as a theatre.

All three shows start at 7.30pm.
