A Long Melford woman who has raised thousands of pounds for a charity supporting children with life-threatening illnesses and their families has been thanked for her efforts.
Over the last few years, Jan Gooding has raised more than £7,500 by staging events for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (Each).
She recently held a table-top sale at the Long Melford Scout and Guide Hut – and collected a staggering £1,118 for the charity.
Abbi Lang, Suffolk fundraiser for Each, said: “We are so grateful for Jan and all those who help her organise the table-top sales.
“They have all raised a fantastic amount over the years and I would like to thank them for all the time and effort they give for Each.
“They are all making a real difference.”
During the sale, a wide range of activities took place, including face-painting, a raffle and a tombola, while friends and neighbours of Mrs Gooding all donated items.
