Police are no longer treating the death of a man in Sudbury as suspicious.

An area of Lucas Road was cordoned off yesterday morning after the discovery of a body.

Following a post-mortem examination of the man, believed to be in his 40s, police have ruled out a murder investigation.

A police spokesman said: “Further tests are required before the cause of death can be established, however, we can confirm that we do not believe the man’s death to be suspicious”.

Police were called to the area by ambulance crews at 10.30am following the discovery.

A police cordon was in force while inquiries were carried out and crime scene investigators attended.

Residents were escorted in and out of the block of flats by police officers, but the cordon has now been lifted.
