Crash victim fighting for life
A SUDBURY solicitor remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital following the Little Cornard rail disaster.
Alan Dickinson, of Sudbury, was transferred to The Royal London Hospital's Intensive Care Unit for specialist care on Wednesday following the horror smash the day before.
The 58-year-old is a partner of Sudbury law firm Tomlinson & Dickinson, based in Friars Street.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said: "His family are grateful for the support of friends, family and colleagues at this time."
Mr Dickinson was one of 21 people injured after the train they were on collided with a 44-tonne tanker on an unmanned level crossing just off Bures Road.
The 5.31pm train was travelling between Sudbury and Marks Tey at the time.
