Cornard homes site to be inspected

A SITE earmarked for 170 homes in Great Cornard will be scrutinised by councillors on Wednesday.

Babergh District Council’s development committee will make a site visit to land east of Carsons Drive, where Persimmon Homes has applied for permission to build the houses.

Committee chairman Peter Beer requested the visit at yesterday’s meeting to assess the potential impact of the proposals on road networks and nearby Abbas Hall.

“We went along about six years ago when this was put into the local plan, but members have changed since then so it’s important to have another look,” said Mr Beer.
