Parishioners at a Sudbury church are to hold a celebration in tribute to one of their own.

The Living Waters Fellowship in Gregory Street will remember Florence Horwell, from Hartest Way, Great Cornard, next month.

Church deacon Brendan Wren said Mrs Horwell, who was better known as Betty, died shortly before Christmas at the age of 98.

“She was a dear member of our church and had lived in Great Cornard for more than 30 years,” he said.

“She came to the church about two years ago and was a much-loved and respected member.”

Mr Wren said Mrs Horwell had fought major health issues, adding that as she was well-known in the community, a celebration of her life and commitment to the church was to take place on February 8 at 4pm.
