Police are investigating after a man in a car approached two children in Clare and asked them to get in.

The incident, which took place in Bridewell Street on Wednesday between 4pm and 4.30pm, was reported on Saturday.

The two children, both aged 13, were walking along the road when a man in a medium sized black four door car pulled into a layby near to them, opened the car door, and asked them to get in.

The children refused and the man drove off in the direction of the centre of Clare.

The man is described as a white and 60-70 years old. He had short grey hair to the back and sides and was balding on the top.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident, or who recognises the man from the description, is asked to contact Pc Dan Tulloch at Haverhill Police on 101 quoting HH/14/584.
