Lessons about life on a farm were given to pupils from Woodhall Primary School in Sudbury as they enjoyed a trip out on Friday.

The youngsters were among 4,000 schoolchildren from across the county, including from Glemsford Primary School, to visit the School Farm and Country Fair in Ipswich.

During the day, they discovered how vegetables grow, watched a cow being milked and were entertained by an owl demonstration.

“It is a great day for us to help children understand the importance and significance of food and farming and how it affects their lives,” said event chairman John Taylor.

The event is organised by the Suffolk Agricultural Association.
