Organisers of a village calendar are to follow in the footsteps of the Free Press to raise money for a severely disabled girl from Long Melford.
Proceeds from the Long Melford village calendar, featuring photographs of The Country Park and Holy Trinity Church, will go towards a specially-modified outdoor swing, costing £640, for six-year-old Megan Roper, from Swanfield.
“Megan needs to lead a normal life as much as she can and having a swing in the garden is part of that,” said Lynda Sebbage, who is organising next year’s calendar.
In 2013, the Free Press helped raise £20,000 as part of an appeal to transform the family home of Megan, who was born with a mystery condition and suffers from development delay.
It is hoped the calendar will be ready to go on sale at Long Melford Primary School’s summer fair on June 23 and the village’s street fair next month.
