Burglars target four homes in Great Cornard

Residents in Great Cornard are being reminded to stay vigilant after a string of burglaries at the weekend.

The first break-in happened in Head Lane sometime between midday on Saturday and 11.50pm on Sunday, when the rear door of a property was forced. A search of the house was made but it is not known at this stage if anything was stolen.

In the same road, between 1pm and 10.50pm on Sunday, a house was broken into through a rear window and a number of items, including two gold rings, a gold necklace and a gold bracelet, were stolen.

A third burglary is believed to have occurred in The Drift between 5.50pm and 8.20pm on Sunday. In this incident, a rear window was once again forced and a 26-inch Samsung TV was stolen.

An attempted burglary was also reported in The Pot Kilns between 8am and 9pm on Sunday. Attempts were made to force a rear door but no entry was gained.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are linking the four crimes and are reminding residents to remain vigilant.

“If anybody saw anything suspicious in the area at these times or has any information in relation to any of the above incidents, they are asked to contact police.”

Call DS Daniel Connick at Ipswich CID on 101.
