Brownie pack under threat
A brownie pack is in danger of closing unless new leaders can be found.
Current leader of the 1st Great Cornard Brownies, Abi Scott, is off to university soon and is desperate for the group to continue.
"It would be such a shame if the pack were to fold because we couldn't find anyone to take it over," said Abi, 18, of Head Lane, Great Cornard.
The pack, for girls aged seven to ten, meets every Thursday at the Old School in Wells Hall Road.
It needs two new leaders.
Abi has been helping for seven years and last year became the youngest Brown Owl pack leader in the area.
Two years ago she had two major operations to correct a curvature of her spine but was soon back with the Brownies.
"It is such a rewarding thing to do," said Abi who is going to De Montfort University, Bedford, to study primary school teaching.
"Anyone taking over would need to enjoy being with children and be able to commit to doing it every week," she said.
Mum Claire, who helps with the Brownies and Guides, said: "Abi, for such a young age, has a great community spirit and without her the pack will close, so we need someone to take over."
