Boating challenge

A TWO-DAY boating adventure along the River Stour will be completed by around 300 people this weekend.

The annual Sudbury to the Sea challenge, run by the River Stour Trust, will see canoes and kayaks making their way on a 25-mile trip from Sudbury to the Cattawade Barrier.

Paddlers will begin their journey at The Granary in Quay Lane on Saturday morning, before camping overnight in Wissington and setting off to reach the finish on Sunday.

Last year participants came from far and wide, including Spain and Australia, and eight-year-old Isabelle Johnson from Sudbury became the youngest person ever to complete the event.
