A refreshment cabin in Sudbury’s Belle Vue Park is expected to reopen in time for the town’s annual fun run after a new management team was found.

The snack bar, which is owned by Babergh District Council, had, until recently, been run by volunteers from Sudbury charities Helping Hands, Go Start, The Quay Theatre, Eden’s Project and AFC Grassroots.

During a meeting of Sudbury Town Council’s leisure and environment committee, it was decided that the district council should take over the operating of the cabin.

“The town council has enough to do and members were happy for Babergh to take back responsibility,” said committee vice-chairman Lesley Ford-Platt.

“The council has had a number of approaches and I believe it should be ready to open for the fun run.”

The fun run will finish in the park on April 18.
