Attempted robbery in Great Cornard

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Great Cornard.

The incident took place on Sunday at around 1.40am as a couple were walking home after a night out, they passed Sainsburys on Cornard Road and as they approached the Cats Lane roundabout a man tapped one of them the shoulder.

The man demanded that he gave him everything he had got. At this point the victim threatened that he would call the police and the offender ran off on foot along Kings Hill towards Great Cornard.

Police attended and searched the area but were unable to find the man.

He is described as being of average height and build and wore a hooded top with the hood up and spoke with a deep voice.
