Appeal after boy injured in hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses after an eight-year-old boy suffered facial injuries in a collision with a car in Long Melford.

The incident took place just after 7pm on Saturday on the A1092, junction with the B1064, Hall Street, beside the funfair.

A small to medium sized silver car collided with the boy, but the woman driver did not stop. The vehicle then left in the direction of High Street.

The boy was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds after sustaining minor facial injuries.

Anyone with information, or the woman driver of the car involved, is asked to call Pc Leon Mower from Sudbury Police on 101, quoting CAD reference 374 of 31/05/14.
