The landlord of a Mount Bures pub says he is “chuffed” to have been shortlisted for a coveted award.

Mitch Adams, who runs the Thatcher’s Arms, is in contention to win the Imbibe’s Pub Personality of the Year prize.

The award aims to recognise those who have made an outstanding contribution to the drinks industry.

“I am utterly bewildered and completely flattered to be shortlisted,” said the 33-year-old.

“There is some really tough competition and I am just chuffed to be in the running.”

Mr Adams, who has been the publican at the Thatcher’s for seven years, will find out early next month if he has won the award.

He is due to appear in an episode of Heston’s Great British Food series on Channel 4 in March.
