A Glemsford landlord will dye his long hair bright pink and shave it off to raise money for a community group this weekend.
Kevin L’Estrange, who runs The Angel pub with his wife Paula, will sport his new colour during his night shift driving for Angel Cars taxi company on Saturday.
He will then have his hair shaved off at The Angel on Sunday afternoon.
“I last had short hair about seven years ago – it is about half-way down my back now,” said Mr L’Estrange.
“The last time I even had a trim was two-and-a-half years ago.”
He has collected £550 in donations and is hoping customers will take pity on his dodgy barnet during his night shift.
“If I can get to £650, I will be really chuffed – it is all for a good cause” he said.
All the money will go to The Glemsford Angels, a fundraising group which holds regular events and makes donations to worthy causes in the village.
Musician Graham McGrotty will be playing at The Angel from 3pm on Sunday. Mr L’Estrange will then raffle off the chance to make the first cut during the interval between 4pm and 4.30pm.
The Glemsford Angels group has held several events this year, including a Spanish-themed ‘May Ole’, its annual summer tea party in July and a music, magic and mayhem fun day at the pub in August.
