A volunteer who has spent nearly a decade at a local youth club has thanked the local community for its response to finding new volunteers, but now the call is out for young people to come and enjoy all the facilities on offer.
Last week the Free Press published an appeal for more volunteers at Acton Youth Club.
In recent weeks a number of people have stepped forward and filled this gap, however, there is currently only around 20 members attending the club which has a 50 person capacity.
Jack Ingram, 16, who was originally a member himself before he started volunteering at the centre three years ago, said: “We’ve got so many facilities and so much planned, we want to get as many kids using it as possible.
“We are based in Acton but we want kids from Sudbury and other villages to come along too.”
Mr Ingram said more members would allow for even more exciting possibilities for everybody, including trips out.
The club is open to all seven to 13-year-olds, held at Acton Village Hall on Mondays from 6-7.30pm.
