HORTICULTURAL show organisers were in clover on Saturday with yet another bumper turn out of entries to their summer show.
The Cornard Horticultural Society put on display 235 entries for the show, which was held at The Stevenson Centre in Broom Street, Great Cornard.
Show secretary Sylvia Rayner said: “Seeing as it has been a peculiarly bad weather year this year, we were very pleased with the number of entries we got.
“We had expected to be down on numbers and instead we had around the same number we had for last year.
“We had some lovely exhibits but we don’t have any massive vegetables – we do not grow to show.
“All our fruit and vegetables and flowers are grown in our own gardens and allotments. I would say it’s a good old fashioned country show.”
The annual event, which has been running for more than 25 years, also attracted entries in cooking, handicrafts, flower art and photographs.
The society holds two shows a year, one in the summer and another in spring.
