A Great Waldingfield singer will be aiming for stardom when she performs in a national competition this month.

Jessica Harvey, 17, from Tentree Road, will sing in front of five judges and a crowd of hundreds in Bedford on October 21 in the regional finals of Open Mic UK, the winner of which will sign a recording contract.

“I’ve sang to 1,000 people and performed at Bures music festival and the Bandstand Marathon in Sudbury, but I’m still quite nervous - it is a bit scary,” said the West Suffolk College student. Call Miss Harvey on 07969858129 for tickets.
