Investigation under way after double deaths in Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was discovered at a house in Long Melford earlier today (Thursday).

Police were carrying out inquiries following an incident at Parkway car park in Bury St Edmunds where a man was found with severe injuries. He received treatment by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the man’s death led police to an address at Little St Mary’s, Long Melford. A search of the house was carried out and a woman’s body was discovered at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation and a police cordon is currently in place at both the address in Long Melford and at Parkway car park.

The investigation is currently in its early stages and inquiries are on-going into the deaths of both the man and woman.

At this stage, their deaths are being treated as unexplained.
