An inquest into the death of a former Sudbury care home assistant is due to take place later this month.

Sophie Bavington, of Bures Road in Great Cornard, died at Fulbourn Hospital in Cambridge in June last year.

Miss Bavington, who had previously spent four years working at Hazel Court care home in Acton Lane, was 23 years old when she died.

The former Wells Hall primary and Great Cornard middle and upper school pupil was the daughter of Great Cornard parish councillor Tony Bavington and his wife Carmel, who is assistant headteacher at Thomas Gainsborough School.

A number of fundraisers in memory of Miss Bavington have taken place in aid of the Befriending Scheme.

An inquest into Miss Bavington’s death is to be held at Huntington Town Hall on November 26.
