An inquest has been formally opened into the death of a Long Melford man.

Norman Headworth, 92, of Harefield, died at Colchester District General Hospital on May 29.

At a hearing in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday, Suffolk coroner Dr Peter Dean opened the inquest and said that a post-mortem examination had shown that Mr Headworth had died as a result of a head injury.

Dr Dean adjourned the inquest to allow further enquiries to be made.
