It was the beginning of the end at Great Cornard Middle School on Saturday as hundreds of people attended a fun day to celebrate the school’s 40th anniversary.
The school, which shuts in the summer, held a ruby extravaganza which included a world record attempt for the most people wearing woolly bobble hats in one place.
“The day was very well attended but although we had 680 people wearing woolly hats we were a bit short of the record,” said headteacher Grace Williams.
“The end is getting closer and closer, but this was a celebration and was very upbeat. It was a nice event for young and old and we had lots of past pupils come along.”
