ST Nicholas Hospice Care is calling for businesses to sign up to its £50 challenge.
The three-month 2012 Towergate Accumulator launches on June 19, with each business handed £50 to turn into as much money as possible for the Bury St Edmunds-based hospice through any fundraising activity they choose.
More than 25 firms have signed up already and businesses can still get involved, like Ipswich Building Society’s Sudbury branch has done.
Area manager Paul Millar said: “Last year, a group of us walked from Haverhill to Ipswich, which raised £3,500.
“We have various ideas being bandied about by the staff for this year.”
Abby Mayes, hospice corporate fundraiser, said: “I can’t wait to see what ideas the teams come up with and who comes out on top. The 2011 challenge was great fun and I want 2012 to be even better.”
Last year, 49 businesses were pitted against each other to be crowned champion and turned their stake money – donated by event sponsors Towergate Risk Solutions – into £40,243 for the hospice.
The 2011 corporate champions were Curve Motion, with a grand total of £3,452, raised through a sponsored skating marathon and slave auction.
The £50 notes will be handed out to each business taking part at a launch ceremony on June 19. Prizes – including most innovative idea and outstanding teamwork – will be given out at the end of the challenge.
