Hospice gets raffle cash

A LAVENHAM tea room helped to raise funds for St Nicholas Hospice with festive frolics on Friday.

Staff at Tickled Pink, in High Street, held a raffle for the hospice and wore Christmas-themed fancy dress outfits, including owner Maxine Mansfield’s father, Mike Thurman, as Father Christmas himself.

Miss Mansfield said: “My mother, who died of liver cancer in September, was cared for at the hospice, so we raised £80 with the raffle and had donations instead of flowers at her funeral.

“St Nicholas’ only has nine beds out of 12 available at the moment as it just doesn’t have enough funds, so raising money for it is great.”
