The launch was at the charity’s AGM where South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge gave the keynote address.
Frances Moore, director of the charity, said: “The aim of the friends group is to promote and raise awareness of our local charity. His [Mr Cartlidge’s] wife, Emily, kindly agreed to become the first member of the Friends.”
Mrs Cartlidge cut the Friends of Home-Start celebration cake and received her membership card.
“Home-Start is a national charity providing support and friendship for families where they need it, how they need it and when they need it,” Mrs Moore added.
Home-Start South Suffolk and District was established in 1990 in Sudbury and has developed in 26 years to cover all of Babergh and West Ipswich.
