People in Sudbury and the surrounding area are being invited to help lead an art project at the town’s new health facility.
The new centre is set to be built in Church Field Road, replacing current facilities at Walnuttree Hospital, St Leonard’s Hospital, Acton Lane Clinic and the Siam GP surgery. The facility is anticipated to open in summer 2014.
NHS Suffolk wants people to put themselves forward to work with architects and project leaders as part of an art project steering group.
The group will define the art policy for the facility and evaluate submissions of artwork.
The Sudbury and Locality Community Implementation Reference Group has advised NHS Suffolk to ask for a total of five volunteers – with two of those places set aside for pupils from Sudbury and Cornard’s high schools.
“NHS Suffolk has asked for the community’s involvement because this will be your building in the future,” said group chairman Anne Nicholls.
“We have offered to choose those who will be involved and want to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer for at least four meetings during the year.”
People with a passion for art should send a short note of no more than 500 words to email@example.com explaining why they want to be involved and what they could bring to the group. The deadline is December 31.
