STAFF at a Hadleigh hairdressers are set for a day of fun and games to raise money for charity, writes Elliot Pinkham.

Sharon Wilkinson, manager of Cutter & Co in the High Street, and her team of staff have arranged a number of activities for October 27 as they aim to raise £5,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer with a Tickled Pink day.

Mrs Wilkinson said: “October is Breakthrough Breast Cancer month and everybody knows someone who has lost someone, is battling against or has survived cancer.”

Stylist Julie Attewell added: “A lot of our clients have had the disease – my grandmother died of it five years ago – and so we thought if we could give something back and get the community together it would be great.”

They will be holding a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses, including pink limited edition GHD straighteners, a signed England rugby shirt and dinner for two at The Cock Inn in Polstead.

“Three or four of the people drawing the prizes will be local breast cancer survivors,” said Mrs Wilkinson. “We are getting phenomenal support – it has been absolutely great.”

Staff will be cutting hair dressed in their pyjamas on the day, as well as a “skin a butcher, peel a greengrocer” event in the evening.
