An adventure across the Jordan desert to raise awareness of prostate cancer has received a timely boost.

Mark Wright, a sales assistant at Winch and Blatch in Sudbury, is completing a 40-mile trek in less than eight weeks.

Earlier this month, Mark, from Uplands Road, finished the Great North Run to increase his fundraising so far to £900.

“It was my first half marathon and I never thought I would be able to do it,” he said. “I would have been happy with a time of three hours, but I did it in two hours and 10 minutes.”

Mark is hoping to reach a target of £2,500, which will go to Prostate Cancer UK. To donate, go to www.justgiving.com/mark-wright13.
