Police are appealing for witnesses after a reported sexual assault in Hadleigh.

Officers are keen to speak to a man who first alerted ambulance crews to a woman who reported she had been sexually assaulted.

The man approached an on-duty member of the ambulance service in the area of Pykenham way at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, December 31, alerting them to a woman in distress.

She was found in an alleyway to the rear of Pykenham Way, reporting that she had been sexually assaulted.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said she did not require hospital treatment but received support from specialist police officers.

Police are keen to trace anyone who may have witnessed this incident and would like to speak to the man who spoke to the paramedic.

He is described as being white and aged between 35 and 45. He was with a group of three women at the time.

Anyone with information should call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting HD/14/1673.
