Newton Green Golf Club has raised £7,500 for a national assistance dog charity.

Having been selected as the captains’ chosen charity, Canine Partners was presented with a cheque from members at the club.

The charity was formed in 1990 and has partnered 530 disabled people with assistance dogs across the UK.

These dogs have changed the lives of those they are helping by restoring independence, giving family members peace of mind, allowing their disabled partners to return to work and even saving lives in emergencies.

The charity also provides dogs for wounded veterans.

Kirsty Buxton, eastern region fundraiser, said: “Canine Partners is delighted to accept this amazing cheque from Newton Green Golf Club in its 25th anniversary year and thanks all the members for their fantastic fundraising efforts.”
