Edna and Dick Jarvis, from Ballingdon Street in Sudbury, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
They raised £320 for Papworth Hospital, where Dick had a triple heart bypass in 1999, through donations.
Mr Jarvis said: “I know people often say they never row but we haven’t really. We’ve had a lovely marriage.”
The couple, who have two daughters, Anne and Carol, met through their love of sequence dancing in 1956 and lived in Long Melford until Mr Jarvis bought a butcher’s shop in Ballingdon Street, Sudbury, in 1972, where the couple have lived since retiring.
They have been in several dance clubs and are still involved in Castle Hedingham Sequence Dance Club. Mrs Jarvis is a member of Sudbury Bowls Club and Mr Jarvis is a trustee of Sudbury Citizens Advice Bureau.
