Three days of demonstrations, sculpting and painting will get under way in Lavenham this weekend.

The Lavenham Art Festival will see eleven of the village’s most creative residents open up their studios, as well as workshops with artists Vernon Lever and David Gilbert. Sculptor Kate Denton will be creating two life-sized Shetland ponies.

The work of talented 17-year-old Ruby Lord, who lives in the village and was discovered by one of the festival’s committee members, will also be on display.

“There is lots going on, particularly in the Market Place, and we have live music with different groups,” said Lesley Thompson, one of the event’s organisers.

Pottery and weaving exhibits will be taking place, along with demonstrations by spinners and dyers and a live birds of prey show.
