MORE than 500 people are expected to take part in the Sudbury Fun Run tomorrow.
The five-mile race, which has been running since the early 1980s, is organised by Sudbury Joggers and will be raising money for the town’s Helping Hands charity and St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The run begins at 9.15am in Station Road, goes through Great Cornard and finishes at Belle Vue Park.
Entries for this year’s event filled up in January and Andy Buck, one of the race organisers, said preparations for the run had gone to plan.
“Everything is going very well and we are prepared for Friday,” he said.
“It is not an easy course but we should have a good race.”
Mr Buck said the event, which was previously run by Sudbury Rotary Club, raised £6,000 for charity last year and was growing in popularity.
“It is going from strength to strength and people love a town race,” he said.
“Everybody knows someone who is doing it and there should be an excellent atmosphere.”
