Firefighters across the area will go on strike for a fourth time next week as a dispute over pensions continues.

Members of the Fire Bridges Union (FBU) will walkout for four hours on Wednesday, from 10am to 2pm.

The strike is a result of the Government and the FBU failing to reach agreement over pension reforms which would mean firefighters not receiving a full pension until they reach the age of 60.

Firefighters have already downed tools on a number of occasions in recent weeks.

Members went on strike on Monday and Friday, while firefighters in Sudbury picketed outside the fire station in Gregory Street, during industrial action at the end of September.
