Former silk boss in court

A RETIRED priest, who is thought to be a former director of a Sudbury silk weaving company, has appeared in court charged with 15 sex offences.

Haley Dossor appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Monday to face charges which include three counts of indecent assault on a child and 11 on an adult.

The 71-year-old, who is believed to have worked at Stephen Walters & Sons until 2001, is also charged with one other sexual offence against a male aged 13 or over.

The charges relate to three alleged victims between 1990 and 2004.

Dossor retired from his position as a priest of St Mary at the Elms in Ipswich six years ago. His first parish was in Shelley, near Hadleigh, were he worked from 1990 to 2001.

Dossor, from Kirton, did not enter a plea during the hearing and was committed to Ipswich Crown Court on September 14. He was released on police bail.
