A SUMMER fete raised a record total for a care home’s residents fund.

The event held at Catchpole Court in Sudbury included a lucky dip, barbecue and tombola and raised £1,120 on Saturday.

Ann Roche, activities leader, said the amount was the most money that had ever been raised from fundraisers by the home.

“It was a great success and the atmosphere was fantastic,” said Mrs Roche.

“It was a lovely day and I’d like to thank all the staff and family members for their help with the event.”

Money from the fete will be used to pay for residents’ trips out – they went to Flatford Mill and Dedham last week – and entertainment.
