A MUSIC festival which has raised more than £100,000 for good causes enjoyed a successful 15th year.
The Bures Music Festival, which began as Jazz by the Stour in 1997, featured a variety of music and performances as it ran from Wednesday to Sunday at the recreation ground.
One of the event’s organisers, Martin Butcher, said: “We had a packed house most nights and there was lots of young local talent.
“There was music from across the board with rock, pop, jazz and poetry and it was all very well supported with people singing along and having a good time.”
The festival donates funds to charity every year, including the Ferriers Barn Handicapped Centre, and has raised £124,000 since being founded by Alan Crumpton, who died in 2009.
“We just like doing something different in the village and we’re already planning for next year,” said Mr Butcher.
“I’m sure Alan would have been impressed – he was a tremendous man who is sadly missed and we did have a little toast to him.”
Mr Butcher also thanked all the volunteers who made the festival possible.
