The stage is being set for the Sudbury Festival of Performing Arts as organisers begin preparations for its 93rd year.

The festival offers people the opportunity to showcase their talents in a number of classes, including dance, music and drama.

The annual event encourages performers of all ages and levels to enter, from first-timers to the more experienced.

After a slight rise in school entries last year, organisers are encouraging more entries from schools.

The dance section is due to kick off on February 14 next year, followed by music on March 3 and speech and drama on March 12.

The festival promises a grand finale with a concert at Ormiston Sudbury Academy on March 22 when performers from each discipline will showcase their skills. Entries close on November 8.
