THE lucky winner of the Free Press’ Live and Kicking competition has been chosen.

Frances Kovabik, from Lionel Hurst Close in Great Cornard, was picked from a raft of entries and will be watching rock band Sweet perform this weekend, along with a host of other bands.

On Monday, Mrs Kovabik was at AFC Sudbury’s Mel Group Stadium – where the music festival will be held on Sunday – to collect her family ticket.

“It is fantastic – I can’t believe it,” she said. “I’m so glad I was picked. It has really made my day.”

Mrs Kovabik correctly answered that 70s rockers Sweet had sold more than 55million records worldwide.

She said she would be taking her husband Pete and two youngest children, Lana, 13, and Josh, nine.

“It is also my birthday this weekend so it makes it all the more special,” added Mrs Kovabik.

Live and Kicking starts at 1pm and runs until 10.30pm. A total of eight bands will be appearing at the festival, including Two Steps Twice and The Take That Experience.

There will also be a number of children’s activities running throughout the day, including a bungee run, face-painting and circus skills.
