A family devastated by the loss of a loved one from motor neurone disease have completed a 54-mile bike ride in his memory

Following the death of Chris Olley, from Bank Side in Long Melford, his family decided to take part in the London to Brighton cycle in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

On Sunday, Chris’ sister Jenny, along with his daughters Georgina and Megan, stepson Jordan and Megan’s husband Morrison, saddled up and raised £3,000.

“We did finish, but it was really tough,” said Jenny, who lives in Eldred Drive in Great Cornard.

“I did not anticipate it being so hard – it was utter relief when I saw the finish line. It was fantastic that people gave so generously.”

Mr Olley was an avid fan of AFC Sudbury and volunteered at the club for years.
