A MEDIEVAL tradition is being revived on a common now owned by the people of Bures.
The village is holding a Michaelmas Fair on Bures Common on Saturday, with music by Wyldes Noyse and drama provided by the Melford hys Companie.
It will also feature stalls and sideshows, and there may be maypole dancing. It runs from 11am to 5pm.
Last year, the common was purchased for £87,500 thanks to donations by villagers and well wishers in order to prevent developers from buying the site.
The land is now permanently open to the public, with fishing reserved for Bures residents.
